The Cessna Citation CJ4 was announced in 2006 and a flight test programme began in 2008. In 2010 the Cessna CJ4 was certified in the USA, a year later in Europe. Since 2010 deliveries to owners began.
The cabin has become longer and seems more spacious. The windows have been raised slightly so that passengers can look through them without tilting their heads. Thoughtful and practical Cessna CJ4 became even more comfortable. With a 7-seat layout, it is most convenient to use this business jet to fly 6 passengers.
In the nose section there is a compact kitchen, where only the essentials for storing and serving cold snacks and a bar can be placed. The lavatory is located in the tail section, as is the wardrobe for outerwear and hand luggage. The luggage compartment is located in the tail, not accessible during flight.
The Cessna CJ4 received a new wing shape compared to the Cessna CJ3+ model and new Williams International engines, model FJ44-4A with increased power, which allowed to bring the cruising speed to 835 kilometres per hour. This is already at the level of the senior models. Most of the airframe and fuselage is made of aluminium alloys, the use of composite materials is limited and used for the manufacture of some external panels, such as, for example, fairings and landing gear flaps.
