You can charter private jets to eight airports in the London area: Luton, Farnborough, Biggin Hill, London City, Heathrow, Stansted, Gatwick and London Oxford. Heathrow and Gatwick are mainly for commercial scheduled flights and only allow private jets if they are connecting to scheduled flights. Otherwise, private jets cannot obtain slots at these airports.
The other six airports offer comprehensive private jet handling services, including separate VIP terminals, parking aprons and hangars for storage and maintenance.
London Luton
Located 50 kilometres from central London, Luton Airport has a 2,162-metre runway that accommodates any type of private jet. The airport features two handling companies with their own VIP terminals.
Farnborough
Situated 50 kilometres southwest of London, Farnborough Airport is a former military airfield now dedicated to private jets and general aviation. VIP terminal is available for handling of private jet passenger.
Biggin Hill
Once a significant military base during World War II, Biggin Hill Airport now serves private jets and general aviation exclusively. It has no scheduled flight traffic and offers a passenger terminal with a VIP lounge, customs and immigration control.
London City
Located within the city limits, London City Airport has strict noise restrictions and a high glide slope (7.92 degrees) due to surrounding buildings. Only certain jet types certified for London City and specially trained crews can land here. Private jet passengers use the Jet Centre terminal for airport formalities.
Stansted
Stansted Airport is 48 kilometres northeast of central London and is the third-largest airport in the London area by passenger volume. It is a hub for many low-cost carriers and has a 3,048-metre runway.
