La Reserve Eden au Lac, a luxurious building on the shores of Lake Zurich, is steeped in centuries of history. Carefully restored, the hotel still maintains Swiss traditions of design and hospitality. Each room is warm and cosy with caramel and creamy chocolate colours. Simple laconic forms, wooden inlays and loft style elements quieten the opulent grandeur of the historical facade, which occasionally reminds of itself with wrought iron balconies and monumental columns visible from the windows. But the beauty of the majestic Alps and the beautiful Lake Zurich with its scattering of white-winged sailboats can't be overshadowed by any work of human hands - and that's the kind of picture you can admire from your bed.
The gastronomic corners of La Reserve Eden au Lac are worthy of special attention. All day long you can move between the exquisite restaurant on the ground floor, the cigar salon next door and the cosy ‘chalet’ in the attic - and taste, taste, taste. The finest wines and spirits, gourmet dishes from around the world and Swiss specialities. Take the lift to the top floor and you will be transported to a fairy tale under a wooden mansard roof - La Muña restaurant occupies the space of a former attic, filled with the heart-warming atmosphere of a bygone era. Antique paintings and photographs, Persian carpets, naive floral upholstery, a stained-glass dome that softly diffuses light and warm lamplights. And outside, on the rooftop, is a panoramic terrace, allowing you to see all around the lake and, of course, enjoy an open-air meal.
