There are 3 airports in the Istanbul metropolitan area that you can use to arrive by private jet - Sabiha Gokcen SAW, Istanbul International IST and Ataturk International ISL.
Sabiha Gokcen International Airport
The airport is located 35 from the city centre. The airport is popular for private flights due to its low commercial traffic load and compact size, unlike Istanbul International Airport. The length of the runway is 3,000 metres and allows for all models of private aircraft. A dedicated General Aviation Terminal has been built to serve passengers, where all airport formalities can be completed without fuss and queues.
Ataturk International Airport
The airport is located 24 kilometres from the centre of Istanbul. Until 2019, it was the main passenger airport of the Turkish capital. Nowadays, the airport is mainly used for cargo and private flights. The airport has a dedicated VIP terminal. The airport operates on a 24-hour basis, which is convenient when planning overnight and early flights.
Istanbul International Airport (IST)
The main passenger airport in Istanbul. It is one of the busiest airports on the European continent. Due to the large number of scheduled flights, it is not always possible to get a slot for a private flight. There are also frequent delays due to heavy traffic and long taxiing times for take-off and after landing. However, the airport is often used to connect with scheduled flights. The connection takes 1 -1.5 hours and depends on the service terminal of the scheduled flight.
