Q: Can I bring my dog on a private jet to Jersey?

From the UK, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, yes, and no pet passport or vaccinations are needed for these flights. Business in St Helier. St Helier, about 15 minutes from the private terminal, is home to Jersey’s banking, trust and fund industry. A same-day return from London, Geneva or Paris is easy within the airport’s opening hours.

Beaches and hotels. St Brelade’s Bay is about 10 minutes away, and the island’s leading hotels, such as Longueville Manor, are within 20 minutes of the airport.

Golf. La Moye Golf Club, on the cliffs of the south-west coast, is about 10 minutes from the airport, and the Royal Jersey Golf Club at Grouville about 25 minutes.

History and wildlife. Mont Orgueil Castle overlooks the harbour at Gorey, and Durrell Wildlife Park, founded by Gerald Durrell, is in the parish of Trinity.

Guernsey and France. Guernsey is about 20 minutes away by air, and St Malo in Brittany about an hour and a half by fast ferry. London, Paris and Oxford are under an hour on a light jet.

Dogs, cats and ferrets can fly in the cabin with you. Jersey sets its own rules for bringing pets to the island — we check them for every flight.

From the UK, Guernsey and the Isle of Man
• No pet passport, health certificate or vaccinations are needed, and your pet can fly with you on a private aircraft.
• The flight must not stop in another country on the way.
• Pets that came to the UK from abroad must have entered the UK legally.

From Europe and other countries: only with an approved operator
• Pets can enter Jersey only with an air operator approved by the Government of Jersey for pet travel. A privately operated aircraft cannot be approved, so we choose a commercial charter operator that holds this approval.
• Microchip — implanted before the rabies vaccination.
• Rabies vaccination — at least 21 days before travel (your pet must be at least 12 weeks old when vaccinated).
• Document: a pet passport issued in the EU or certain other countries, or a pet health certificate.
• Dogs: tapeworm treatment by a vet 1 to 5 days before arrival.
• Your pet must travel with you or within 5 days of you.

Flying from Jersey to the EU
• You need an Animal Health Certificate or an EU pet passport. A UK pet passport is not accepted for entry into the EU.
