Manchester Airport (MAN) for Private Jets

Manchester Airport is the main airport for private flights in the North of England: it is open 24 hours, has customs and border control on site and two long runways that accept any business jet, from a Citation Mustang to a Global or a VIP airliner.

Two private terminals. Private jet passengers use either the Signature Flight Support business aviation centre or Aether — the airport’s private terminal opened in late 2024, where Weston Aviation provides handling (ground services for the aircraft, crew and passengers). Security and passport control are private, and you can arrive 20 minutes before departure. We choose the terminal that best suits your flight.

Slots and night flights. Manchester is a slot-coordinated airport: every flight, private ones included, needs a slot — an allocated time for take-off or landing. We request it together with your booking. Between 23:30 and 06:00 flights operate under a night quota, a limited allowance of night movements, so a late departure after an evening match or event should be requested in advance.

From Ireland and Scotland. Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow or Edinburgh to Manchester takes under an hour — for a group sharing a light jet, the cost per person can be close to business class, without losing a day to connections.

Helicopter to the stadium area. City Airport (Barton) is the closest landing site to Old Trafford.

Flying with Pets

Dogs, cats and ferrets fly in the cabin with you. Arrivals into Great Britain have strict rules — we check them for every flight.

Arriving in the UK at Manchester
• The aircraft operator must be approved for pet travel on the route into Manchester. Your pet is checked by Pets on Jets, the animal reception centre at Manchester Airport, before it is released to you.
• Microchip — implanted before the rabies vaccination.
• Rabies vaccination — at least 21 days before travel (after the primary vaccination).
• Document: a pet passport issued in the EU (or Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Gibraltar, Vatican), or a Great Britain pet health certificate signed by an official vet — entry within 10 days of issue.
• Dogs: tapeworm treatment by a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 5 days before arrival.
• No approved route is needed for flights within the UK or from Ireland. If the rules are not met, the pet can be put into quarantine for up to 4 months.

Flying from Manchester to the EU
• You need an Animal Health Certificate from your vet: valid for 10 days for entry into the EU, then 6 months for onward travel within the EU and for re-entry to Great Britain. A GB-issued pet passport is not accepted for entry into the EU.
