Liszt Ferenc Liszt International Airport (Liszt Ferenc Nemzetközi Repülőtér) serves Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The airport is located 16 kilometres from the central part of the city. The airport was renamed in 2011 in honour of the Hungarian composer Ferenc Liszt to mark the bicentenary of his birth. The airport was opened in 1943 and was significantly destroyed during World War II. In 1950, reconstruction of the airport was completed and it opened as a civilian airport.
At present, the airport has two runways, 3,707 and 3,010 metres long, which allows flights from Budapest on any type of private jet. Business jet passengers are served in a separate General aviation terminal. There are no random people in the terminal, pre-flight formalities are quick and without the fuss usually associated with passenger terminals.
